| Chicago Sound Therapy was founded by Susan L. Bank, M.D. a Chicago based board-certified psychiatrist and Fabien Van der Stappen, a sound engineer, musician and owner of FabSound Recording Studio in Chicago. They are the proud parents of Benji who was born in 2004 and diagnosed with autism shortly before his second birthday.
Both Dr. Bank and Mr. Van der Stappen were trained and certified by Dr. Ron Minson, M.D., who studied under the pioneer Dr. Alfred Tomatis (1920-2001). Dr. Tomatis was an ear, nose and throat specialist and one of the first to understand the role that the ear plays in communication, learning, attention and mood.
Dr. Ron Minson is the only MD in the U.S. to have studied under Dr. Tomatis, and has practiced his techniques for 18 years. Dr.Ron Minson lives and practices in Denver, Colorado where he has treated thousands of children and adults. He is currently the lead Professional trainer for Integrated Listening Systems (iLs).
